Michael Jackson unreleased documentary footage emerges
Previously unseen footage has emerged from a shelved 2001 documentary project featuring Michael Jackson. The recordings capture the singer at the height of his fame, including moments where he tours his childhood home in Gary, Indiana, and interacts with aides in his limousine.
The footage includes a notable encounter with a 19-year-old Beyoncé, who is seen speaking with Jackson during the recording of the “What More Can I Give” charity project. The clips also show Jackson’s personal humor and his interest in fragrances.
The documentary project, produced by Marc Schaffel, was halted following the 2003 police raid on Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. Although Jackson was later acquitted of all charges, the legal proceedings and subsequent departure from the United States led television networks to lose interest in the project, leaving the material unreleased for years.
