Michael Jackson's $4 billion estate fuels legal battle among his children
The $4 billion estate left by pop icon Michael Jackson has become the center of a court dispute between his three children. An extra payment of US$570 000 (about R$3.1 million) approved for Paris Jackson sparked a rift, leading Prince and Bigi Jackson to cease direct contact with their sister and communicate only through lawyers.
Documents show that by 2022 Prince had received roughly US$3.1 million, Paris US$3.2 million and Bigi US$1 million from the estate. The disagreement has also spilled into the production of the biopic "Michael," where Prince serves as co‑producer while Paris publicly criticized the script as inaccurate. Paris’s team has also attacked longtime executor John Branca, arguing the fortune should not be used as a guarantee for estate management.
The feud is ongoing, with the heirs each seeking to protect what they view as their rightful share of their father's legacy.
