Michael John Snape Pleads Guilty to Child Abuse Material Charges in Australia

Michael John Snape appeared by video link from prison at Tamworth Local Court on July 29 and pleaded guilty to three offences involving a sexual relationship with a child under 14 and the creation of child‑abuse material. Solicitor for the Director of Public Prosecutions, Bianca McKinlay, confirmed that the guilty pleas cover the primary charges, while a range of additional offences such as intercourse with a child, sexual touching and grooming were withdrawn as part of a plea deal.

The court ordered a psychological report before sentencing and set an arraignment for November 23, when Snape will be placed on the child‑protection register. Bail was refused and he will remain in custody pending the upcoming sentencing hearing.
