Michael Johnston teases upcoming queer-focused project

Actor Michael Johnston, known for his breakout role in the horror film ‘Obsession’, has announced he is preparing for an upcoming project described as an ‘incredibly queer story’. Johnston, who is openly gay, expressed excitement about playing a meaningful and intentional queer role that includes a ‘steamy moment’ on screen.

Reflecting on his career, Johnston noted that playing openly gay characters in the past, such as Corey Bryant in ‘Teen Wolf’, helped him navigate his own sexuality and empathy. He emphasized his desire to provide representation for others, stating that seeing gay characters on screen helped him realize he was not alone. Following the success of ‘Obsession’, Johnston indicated he now has more agency to choose projects that align with his personal identity and values.
