Michael Jordan's Ferrari 550 Maranello sells for $2.7 million

A 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello previously owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan has sold at auction for $2.7 million, approximately Rp48.9 billion. The final sale price significantly exceeded the initial estimates of $700,000 to $1.3 million.

The vehicle was originally ordered by Jordan through a dealer in Greensboro, North Carolina. It featured custom modifications to accommodate the basketball star, including thinner seat padding and new rails to adjust the driver's seating position. Jordan owned the car for approximately five years, including during the Chicago Bulls' 1998 NBA championship season, and it covered roughly 6,400 miles during his ownership.

After Jordan sold the car in 2002, it remained in a private collection in California for about 25 years. The vehicle was rediscovered by the Miami-based dealer We Are Curated, which located the car using its Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The Ferrari was subsequently brought to Chicago and auctioned via Joopiter in October 2026.
