Michael Kay discusses potential retirement from Yankees broadcasting

Michael Kay, the longtime YES Network broadcaster for the New York Yankees, has begun considering his future in sports media. During a recent appearance on the ‘Awful Announcing Podcast’, Kay noted that turning 65 has prompted him to think more seriously about when the right time might be to retire.

Kay has been a prominent voice for the Yankees for decades, spanning both radio and television. While he has not announced a specific retirement date or indicated plans to leave his current roles, he acknowledged that the questions regarding his departure have become more frequent as he reaches this milestone age.

In recent broadcasts, Kay has maintained his reputation for outspoken commentary. During a game against the Baltimore Orioles, he used sarcastic language to describe a three-run inning, jokingly calling it an ‘offensive orgy’ in response to the team's recent offensive struggles.
