Michael Kiwanuka releases fifth studio album ‘FUDGE’

Psychedelic soul singer Michael Kiwanuka has released his fifth studio album, ‘FUDGE’. The project, which features production by Dom Monks and Joe Connell, explores themes of new beginnings and introspection.

The album opens with an archival recording of the late jazz pianist Chick Corea, who discusses the importance of pursuing what one finds beautiful. This philosophy carries through the record, which includes collaborations with vocalists and string arrangements by Simone Daley Richards and Rosie Danvers.

Following his recent announcement regarding health struggles and a stroke, the album takes on added significance as a reflection of his rehabilitation and personal journey. Tracks such as ‘Summer Clothes’ and ‘Just Another Moment’ showcase a blend of soul, strings, and percussive elements.
