Michael Macko joins Latham & Watkins as partner

Michael Macko has joined the Bay Area offices of Latham & Watkins LLP as a partner in the Privacy & Cyber Practice and a member of the Litigation & Trial Department.

Macko previously served as the inaugural Head of Enforcement at the California Privacy Protection Agency (CalPrivacy), where he built the agency’s enforcement program, oversaw hundreds of matters, and supervised investigations and litigation regarding California privacy law.

His professional background also includes serving as in-house counsel for a large technology company, a Trial Attorney in the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement, and an Assistant US Attorney and Trial Attorney at the US Department of Justice.
