Michael Mann to premiere Miami Vice Director’s Final Cut

Writer-director Michael Mann is set to premiere ‘Miami Vice: Director’s Final Cut’ at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles on October 3, 2026. The new version of the 2006 film will be presented in 4K and will be followed by a Q&A session with Mann.

This new cut potentially differs from the ‘Unrated Director’s Edition’ released on Blu-ray in 2008. The original production of Miami Vice was noted for its difficulties, including the departure of actor Jamie Foxx during filming in the Dominican Republic, which necessitated changes to the film's ending. While the 2006 release was a commercial and critical misfire, the film has since gained cult status.
