Michael McCormack vows to defend Riverina against One Nation challenge

Federal member for Riverina Michael McCormack rejected claims his grip on the electorate is weakening, stating that "the only poll that matters is election day." He warned voters not to panic over "hypothetical" scenarios as the next federal election approaches.

One Nation confirmed it will field candidates in every lower‑house seat at the upcoming election, including Riverina. The party says growing support among younger voters and working families reflects frustration with major parties over the cost‑of‑living squeeze.

McCormack criticised the minor‑party promises as unlikely to deliver real solutions for households in Wagga Wagga and the Murrumbidgee, while urging the Coalition to address the region's economic pressures.
