Michael Morales named UFC 330 welterweight title fight substitute

Ecuadorian mixed‑martial‑arts fighter Michael Morales announced that he has been designated as the official alternate for the UFC 330 welterweight title bout between Islam Makhachev and Ian Machado Garry on 15 August 2026 in Philadelphia. Morales confirmed the role in a social‑media post and later to MMA Junkie, noting that he will step in only if either champion is unable to compete.

Morales also shared his predictions, stating that Makhachev is the clear favorite and giving Garry “zero, zero, zero” chance of winning. He said he would welcome the opportunity to fight the champion himself if called upon, describing it as a dream and acknowledging Makhachev’s dominance in the division.
