Michael Noonan to join Nottingham Forest from Shamrock Rovers
Eighteen-year-old Irish striker Michael Noonan is set to join Nottingham Forest from Shamrock Rovers on January 1. The transfer follows interest from several major clubs, including Ajax, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
Reports indicate that Ajax was in advanced stages of negotiations for the young forward, who had previously visited their training complex. However, Nottingham Forest successfully secured a pre-agreement for the player. Because Noonan’s contract with Shamrock Rovers expires at the end of this calendar year, Nottingham Forest will not be required to pay a transfer fee.
Noonan has been a standout performer for Shamrock Rovers, appearing in 81 official matches and recording 17 goals and three assists. He is also an Irish youth international.
