Michael Olise extends Bayern deal to 2029, rejects Real Madrid

French international Michael Olise, 22, has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich that runs until 2029, ending weeks of speculation that Real Madrid might recruit the winger. Bayern, which paid around €60 million for him in 2023, said the extension will likely include a significant salary increase, with talks to push the deal through 2031. Olise finished the 2025/26 season with 22 goals and 25 assists for Bayern and has been a key player for France at the 2026 World Cup.

Reports of Real Madrid’s interest were tied to the club’s uncertain situation with Vinícius Júnior; however, Bayern has made clear it will not sell. Transfer columnist Christian Falk wrote, “It is true Real Madrid would like him, but there is no chance of signing the Frenchman this summer.” Other clubs such as Paris Saint‑Germain, Manchester City and Liverpool have also been linked to Olise, but Bayern maintains that the player’s contract and lack of a release clause block any move.

The German club is also said to have a discreet agreement with Real Madrid to avoid public transfer wars, leaving the player’s future firmly in Munich for the foreseeable future.
