Michael Ovitz ordered to complete deposition in Julia Ormond lawsuit

A New York judge has ordered Michael Ovitz, co-founder of Creative Artists Agency (CAA), to complete a deposition in a sexual assault lawsuit filed by actress Julia Ormond. The order follows an incident during a June deposition where Ovitz abruptly ended the proceedings after being questioned about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Ormond is suing CAA, alleging the agency arranged a 1995 meeting with Harvey Weinstein that led to her sexual assault. The lawsuit claims agency leadership failed to warn her of Weinstein’s history of misconduct. During the previous deposition, Ovitz reportedly grew irate when asked about Epstein, stating, “I’m not going to discuss anything about Jeffrey Epstein,” before walking out.

Judge Adam Silvera denied requests from Ormond’s legal team to issue an arrest warrant or find Ovitz in contempt, but ruled that the deposition was “inappropriately terminated.” Ovitz has been ordered to return and complete the questioning by December 18. The judge also declined to rule out further questions regarding Ovitz’s associations with Epstein.
