Michael Penix Jr. and wife announce they are expecting first child

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and his wife, Olivia, announced via social media that they are expecting their first child. The couple shared the news through an Instagram video featuring ultrasound images, captioned, “Upgraded to mom and dad.”

The personal announcement follows Penix’s recent return to professional football. After recovering from a partially torn ACL that required surgery and caused him to miss the first two games of the season, Penix led the Falcons to a 35-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. During that performance, he recorded 256 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski praised Penix’s dedication to his rehabilitation process, noting the intensive work the quarterback performed with medical staff to return to the field.
