Michael Pipoquinha brings new Afro Groove project to Europe

Brazilian bassist and composer Michael Pipoquinha is touring Europe to present his new project, ‘Minha Pele’ (My Skin), with the Minha Pele Quartet. The project marks a significant career shift for the artist, as he debuts as a singer and producer alongside his instrumental work.

The musical style, which Pipoquinha describes as ‘Afro Groove’, blends African influences with traditional Brazilian music. The lyrics of the title track explore themes of identity and the experience of being a Black man in Brazil.

Upcoming performances include a date at the Teatro AncheCinema in Bari, Italy, as part of the MAST Connection program, and appearances at the Jamboree in Barcelona and the Eivissa Jazz festival in Ibiza, Spain.
