Michael Pittman Jr. faces new foot injury, Steelers coach says
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy provided an update on wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr., who is currently sidelined with a foot injury. McCarthy clarified that the foot ailment is a different injury from the one that hampered Pittman during training camp and the preseason.
Pittman missed the Steelers' 20-3 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 2. While his availability for the upcoming Week 3 game remains uncertain, McCarthy stated that Pittman is scheduled for evaluation on Wednesday morning to determine a plan moving forward.
During his time sidelined, Pittman noted that the period allowed him to better process the team's offensive operations. The Steelers' passing attack, led by Aaron Rodgers, struggled significantly during Pittman's absence.
