Michael Saylor proposes bill of digital rights for crypto assets
Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of MicroStrategy, has proposed a ‘bill of digital rights’ to govern digital assets. In his publication ‘Prescriptions for Prosperity in the Digital Economy’, Saylor argues for a framework of fundamental rights rather than restrictive regulations.
Saylor outlines five specific rights for individuals and corporations: the ability to create, spend, hold (either personally or through a service provider), freely transfer, and utilize digital assets. Utilization includes activities such as making payments, investing, generating yields, and securing loans based on digital assets.
To support these rights, Saylor advocates for enhanced financial privacy and practical market access. He suggests that integrating Bitcoin more deeply into the banking system would simplify capital raising through digital tokens, noting a long-term potential for the digital asset industry to reach a volume of $100 trillion.
