Strategy's Bitcoin reserves now exceed debt by $48.3 billion
Strategy, the former MicroStrategy, has expanded its Bitcoin treasury to about 847,000 BTC, valued at roughly $54 billion as Bitcoin trades near $63,000. This puts the company's Bitcoin and cash reserves about $48.3 billion above its outstanding debt, reversing a position in late 2022 when debt exceeded reserves by $300 million.
Recent activity includes a $100 million purchase of 1,587 BTC and a first Bitcoin sale in years of 32 BTC for about $2.5 million, used to fund the company’s STRC preferred‑stock dividend program. Michael Saylor explained that selling just 1.4 % of the treasury can finance perpetual dividends while the company aims to replace each sold BTC with 10‑20 new coins through capital raises.
Analysts note that Strategy’s balance‑sheet recovery is tightly linked to Bitcoin’s price movements, and its Monday‑day buying announcements continue to influence market sentiment around the $60,000‑$65,000 price zone.
