Michael Schanze struggles to find Munich apartment

German TV moderator Michael Schanze is struggling to find a new home in Munich after learning his current apartment building is scheduled for demolition. Having lived in his residence for over 13 years, Schanze must vacate the premises by the end of 2026.

The 79-year-old entertainer, known for hosting the show ‘1, 2 oder 3’, has specific requirements for his next residence due to health and lifestyle needs. He is seeking a space of at least 100 square meters with a monthly rent of up to 3,000 euros. Because he suffers from polyneuropathy, a progressive nerve disease that affects his mobility, he requires an accessible home with minimal stairs.

Additionally, Schanze needs enough space to accommodate at least one of his three concert grand pianos. As the deadline approaches, he has stated that if his search remains unsuccessful, he may have to move into a senior citizens' residence as a contingency plan.
