Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson to coach HBCU football rematch in Philadelphia on Oct 31, 2026

Former Philadelphia Eagles teammates Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson will return to the city as head coaches for the second annual HBCU Battle of the Legends. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026 at Lincoln Financial Field after officials moved the event from Norfolk State University to accommodate strong fan interest.

Vick leads the Norfolk State Spartans while Jackson fronts the Delaware State Hornets. The inaugural 2025 matchup drew more than 47,000 spectators, with Delaware State winning 27‑20 and later posting an 8‑4 season, its first winning record in over a decade. The 2026 contest will be broadcast live on ESPNU and will be followed by a CIAA double‑header featuring Lincoln University against Virginia Union.

The event highlights HBCU football traditions, pageantry, and marching bands, bringing renewed national attention to the programs.
