Michael Wynn-Jones, husband of Delia Smith, dies at 85

Michael Wynn-Jones, husband of celebrity chef Delia Smith and honorary life president of Norwich City Football Club, has died at the age of 85. He passed away peacefully at home on a Monday morning.

Wynn-Jones was a journalist who served as the deputy editor of the Daily Mirror's Mirror Magazine and worked for The Spectator. He also established New Crane Publishing, which produced several of his wife's books. The couple, who married in 1971, were joint majority shareholders of Norwich City until 2024.

Norwich City Football Club released a statement expressing condolences, noting that Wynn-Jones would be “greatly missed.” The club highlighted his influential role in the boardroom and his involvement in overseeing several promotions to the Premier League. The family expressed gratitude to the community nursing team at St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich for their care.
