Michaël Randrianirina visits Antsohihy amid presidential candidacy calls

Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, president of the Refondation de la République de Madagascar, conducted a high-profile visit to Antsohihy in the Sofia region to commemorate the 68th anniversary of the proclamation of the first Malagasy Republic.

The visit included the inauguration of several local infrastructures, such as a renovated primary school and a museum dedicated to Philibert Tsiranana, the nation's first president. Randrianirina also met with local populations and distributed donations to farming organizations.

Amidst these celebrations, political maneuvering is reportedly increasing. Various political groups and associations, including VFM, FFM, KMT, and Fanjiry, are actively calling for Randrianirina to run in the upcoming presidential election. While the Colonel has previously stated that the people must decide on his candidacy, these organizations are increasingly mobilizing to support his bid for the presidency.
