Michale Graves cancels Brazil tour amid antifascist protests

The planned Brazilian tour of American musician Michale Graves, former vocalist of the punk band Misfits, has been canceled. The tour was scheduled to include five shows in Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, Curitiba, and São Paulo between September 23 and September 27.

Production company Caveira Velha stated the decision was made “in commitment to the safety of the public and the entire production team.” The cancellation follows mobilization by antifascist groups, such as Ação Antifascista Social, who organized protests against the events. These protests stem from Graves' previous political stances, including reported support for the Proud Boys in 2020 and his expressed favor toward the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot.

Refunds for online ticket purchases will be processed automatically, while those purchased at physical locations must be reclaimed in person. State deputy Leonel Radde commented on the cancellation of the Porto Alegre show, describing it as a “victory for antifascists.”
