Michalis Katrinis raises concerns over Eleia police and road projects

PASOK MP Michalis Katrinis has raised urgent parliamentary concerns regarding public services and infrastructure in the Eleia region of Greece.

Regarding public safety, Katrinis submitted a report to the Minister of Citizen Protection following a request from the Eleia Police Employees Union. The union noted that while 32 additional officers were planned for the region, only 23 were actually deployed. Katrinis emphasized that upcoming retirements and discharges will create further staffing shortages, arguing that the government must look beyond merely filling vacant spots and instead consider the region's geographic size and actual workload.

On infrastructure, Katrinis criticized the government over the stalled Pyrgos–Kalo Nero–Tsakona road project. Following a parliamentary debate, the MP argued that despite previous government promises, the project lacks a definitive route, cost estimate, funding scheme, and implementation timeline. While the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport indicated that a concessionaire's proposal is under evaluation and traffic studies have been requested, Katrinis maintained that the lack of concrete details suggests the project has not truly been mobilized.
