KAA Gent has officially completed the signing of winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha from Celtic FC. The 25-year-old Congo international joins the Belgian side on a season-long loan deal that includes an option to make the transfer permanent for approximately £3.5 million.

Balikwisha, who previously played in the Jupiler Pro League for Standard Liège and Royal Antwerp, struggled to secure regular playing time in Scotland. After joining Celtic for roughly £5 million in the summer of 2025, he made only 273 minutes of first-team appearances.

Gent coach Rik De Mil expressed satisfaction with the acquisition, noting Balikwisha’s experience and familiarity with the Belgian league. The move follows Gent’s successful qualification for the UEFA Conference League League Phase, providing the squad with additional depth for European competition.
