Michel Bienvenu named Liberal candidate for Rimouski
The Parti libéral du Québec has confirmed Michel Bienvenu as its candidate for the Rimouski riding in upcoming elections. Bienvenu, a long-time Liberal activist, brings extensive experience in regional development and human resources. His professional background includes serving as the director of the Conférence régionale des élus (CRÉ) for the Longueuil agglomeration from 2004 to 2013, as well as roles with the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux and Aon Canada.
Bienvenu replaces Étienne Pineault-Saindon, who was removed by party leader Charles Millard shortly before the official campaign launch due to allegations of a personal nature. Pineault-Saindon has denied any wrongdoing, suggesting his decision may have been influenced by his attendance at a rival candidate's investiture meeting. Bienvenu stated that his goal is to use his knowledge of government machinery to serve the people of Rimouski.
