Michel Drucker discusses funeral wishes and epitaph

French television presenter Michel Drucker, 84, has shared his reflections regarding his future funeral arrangements and preferred epitaph. In a recent interview with La Tribune Dimanche, the host of ‘Vivement Dimanche’ expressed a desire for a non-religious ceremony, noting that he is not a believer.

Drucker has considered several options for his tombstone, including a humorous quote attributed to Groucho Marx: ‘I could have lived longer, but now it is too late.’ However, he is leaning toward a more somber inscription: ‘He loved people and they loved him well.’

The remarks come as Drucker promotes his new book, ‘Je vous ai tant aimés,’ which chronicles sixty years in the television industry. Despite his age and past cardiac issues in 2020 and 2023, he stated he has no immediate plans to retire, remarking, ‘The day I no longer do television, I die!’
