Calabria promotes regional excellence through wine and tourism

Calabria is highlighting its regional excellence through tourism and viticulture initiatives. The first edition of Vinitaly and the City in Reggio Calabria has concluded with significant success, attracting approximately 60,000 visitors and hosting 83 companies specializing in wine and spirits. The event, organized by Arsac and the Calabria Region, featured masterclasses, tastings, and culinary showcases to promote the territory's agroalimentary strengths.

In tandem with these commercial efforts, press tours are showcasing the diverse landscapes of Calabria, ranging from the coastal beauty of Scalea and San Nicola Arcella—which features Italy’s first solar-powered passenger vessel—to the lush greenery of the Pollino and Sila regions.

Furthermore, a collaborative effort between media and G.R.A.S.P.O. (the Ampelographic Research Group for Sustainability and Preservation of Viticultural Originality) is focusing on the preservation of rare and historical Italian grape varieties. This initiative aims to address climate change challenges by rediscovering forgotten vineyards and promoting biodiversity within the national viticultural landscape.
