Michele and Antonio Affidato promote Italian goldsmithing in New York

Calabrian goldsmiths Michele and Antonio Affidato participated in an international mission to New York to promote Italian craftsmanship and the 'Made in Italy' brand. The mission, organized by the association 'I Sud del mondo Ets', coincided with Columbus Day celebrations and the third edition of the Mediterranean Heart festival in New Jersey.

During the mission, the Affidato maison received the 'Riace Warriors Award 2026'. The delegation, led by Pompeo Torchia and Giuseppe Galati, engaged in various institutional meetings, including a visit to the Consulate General of Italy in New York to discuss business internationalization. They were also received by Ambassador Giorgio Marrapodi at the Permanent Representation of Italy to the United Nations.

At the 16th Italian-American Grand Gala, the artists presented a sculpture to Tony Di Piazza, president of the Italian Cultural Association of New York, as a token of appreciation for his work in maintaining ties with Italy. The event also featured soccer legend Roberto Baggio, who received a lifetime achievement award.
