Michele Padovano reflects on 17-year legal battle and acquittal

Former Juventus striker Michele Padovano has reflected on his 60th birthday regarding a 17-year legal battle that concluded with his acquittal. The judicial ordeal began in 2006 following an investigation into hashish trafficking, where Padovano was accused of involvement due to a loan made to a friend.

Padovano, who won multiple titles with Juventus including the Italian Championship and the European Cup, described the day of his definitive acquittal in January 2023 as “the most beautiful day of my life.” He noted that the legal process lasted nearly two decades and expressed disappointment over a perceived lack of solidarity from the football community during his period of isolation.
