Michele Pais disputes Alghero sports funding claims

Michele Pais, a Lega councilor and former President of the Sardinian Regional Council, has criticized the Alghero municipal administration regarding the funding of local sports facilities. Pais claims the administration is falsely presenting recent announcements as new achievements when the funds were actually allocated during the previous regional legislature.

Specifically, Pais addressed the announcement of 75,000 euros for the redevelopment of the San Marco field in Fertilia. He noted that under Regional Law no. 17 of December 19, 2023, a total of 1.17 million euros had already been approved for various sports facilities in Alghero, including Fertilia, Mariotti, Pino Cuccureddu, and several others. Pais argued that the administration should provide full transparency to citizens rather than claiming credit for resources previously secured through past legislative actions.
