The trailer for 'Livatino - Il giudice e i suoi assassini' has been released, marking Michele Placido’s directorial debut for a Rai fiction series. The four-episode mini-series explores the life of Rosario Livatino, a magistrate in Agrigento who was murdered by the Stidda criminal organization on September 21, 1990.

Set during the 1980s, the narrative follows the intersection of Livatino’s fight against mafia power—targeting economic interests and territory—and the rise of young criminals seeking social redemption through crime. Livatino is noted as the first magistrate in history to be beatified by the Catholic Church, recognized as a martyr of justice and faith.

Giuseppe De Domenico stars as the judge, alongside Leonardo Maltese, Nino Frassica, and others. The production was filmed in authentic locations including Naro, Canicattì, Palma di Montechiaro, Favara, and Agrigento. The series will be available on Rai 1 and Rai Play.
