Michele Tadini appointed Artistic Director of Biennale Musica
The Biennale di Venezia Board of Directors has appointed Milanese composer Michele Tadini as the Artistic Director of the Music Sector for the 2027–2028 biennium. Tadini succeeds Caterina Barbieri, who is being thanked for her contributions and results during her mandate.
Tadini, a composer and educator who teaches at the Conservatorio Nazionale Superiore di Musica e Danza di Lione, will oversee the next International Festival of Contemporary Music. The first festival under his leadership is scheduled to take place in Venice from October 2 to October 16, 2027.
Board President Pietrangelo Buttafuoco highlighted Tadini’s research in electronic music and real-time interaction systems, noting his ability to bridge music with theater, visual arts, and dance. Tadini expressed a strong sense of responsibility, stating his goal is to create a project that is significant for both the public and the music industry itself.
