Michelfeld and Amberg initiate local environmental projects

In Michelfeld, the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) Wünschewagen Franken/Oberpfalz has launched a sustainability initiative on the grounds of the Regens-Wagner-Stiftung. Following the receipt of a 1,500 euro award from the Round Table Amberg, the project will plant a new fruit tree for every successful special trip provided to terminally ill individuals.

The first ten fruit trees were recently planted by volunteers, including local officials and foundation staff. The project, which relies on donations and volunteers, aims to fulfill the final wishes of seriously ill people, such as visits to the sea or family outings.

In Amberg, the environmental committee has also contributed to local greenery by planting a young aspen, the tree of the year, at the Pappelallee near Dammweg. This action is part of ongoing local environmental efforts, which include new waste reduction initiatives and calls for environmental award suggestions.
