Michelin Guide 2026 recognizes several Japanese luxury hotels

Several Japanese hospitality establishments have been recognized in the Michelin Guide Hotel Selection 2026.

In Tokyo, AberugeTOKITO in Tachikawa has been awarded ‘1 Michelin Key’ for the second consecutive year. The establishment, which occupies the site of the historic Mumon-an restaurant, is noted for its integration of local history and architecture, offering high-end accommodations with private open-air hot spring baths.

In Shizuoka Prefecture, West Creative announced that its property Fugaku Gunjo in Izu City has also received ‘1 Michelin Key’ for the second year running. The hotel is recognized for its suites that offer views of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay. Additionally, its sister property, Mayu Futahari in Nishiizu, has been newly included in the Michelin Guide as a ‘Selected Hotel’. Mayu Futahari features rooms built using repurposed beams from traditional folk houses, all equipped with private hot spring baths overlooking the Dogashima Geopark.
