Michelin Guide announces 2026 Key awards for US hotels

The Michelin Guide has released its 2026 Key selections, expanding the list of honored hotels in the United States. The Michelin Key system, which functions similarly to Michelin Stars for restaurants, recognizes hotels based on criteria including architecture, service consistency, personality, and value.

In Washington, D.C., seven hotels earned recognition. The Jefferson, Rosewood Washington DC, and The Hay-Adams were awarded Two Keys, while Riggs Washington DC, Eaton DC, Pendry Washington DC at The Wharf, and the Fairmont Washington DC Gold Experience received One Key. Nearby in Virginia and Maryland, The Inn at Little Washington, Salamander Resort and Spa, and the Ivy Hotel also received distinctions.

In New Orleans, three additional hotels were awarded One Key: the Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans, The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, and the Windsor Court. These additions bring the total number of Michelin-distinguished hotels in New Orleans to nine.
