MICHELIN Guide unveils 2026 Key hotel selections globally

The MICHELIN Guide has unveiled its 2026 MICHELIN Key selection, recognizing 2,832 hotels worldwide for exceptional stays. This global selection includes nearly 470 newly distinguished hotels across 79 destinations, highlighting a trend toward immersive and personalized hospitality.

Regional highlights include:

• Japan: 145 hotels received Keys, with Gora Kadan earning its third consecutive Three-Key distinction. New entries include Waldorf Astoria Osaka and Capella Kyoto.

• United Arab Emirates: 25 hotels were awarded Keys, with Atlantis The Royal in Dubai maintaining its status as the sole Three-Key property in the country.

• Argentina: 16 hotels were recognized, with Mendoza emerging as a leading province through six distinctions. Notable properties like Alvear Palace Hotel and Estancia Cristina were promoted to Two Keys.

• Morocco: 31 hotels earned distinctions, including La Mamounia and Kasbah Tamadot, which both retained Three Keys.

• New Zealand: Nine hotels joined the selection, bringing the national total to 28, with Wallingford Homestead receiving Two Keys.

• Poland: 14 hotels were awarded Keys, an increase from previous years.

• Ireland: Four hotels, including The Fitzwilliam Hotel and The Leinster, earned their first Keys.

The MICHELIN Key, established in 2024, serves as the hotel equivalent to the restaurant Michelin Star, evaluating properties based on architecture, service, personality, and connection to their setting.
