MICHELIN Guide expands Greek coverage to Thessaloniki and Santorini

The MICHELIN Guide is expanding its coverage in Greece for the 2027 selection, moving beyond Athens to include Thessaloniki and Santorini. This expansion follows a partnership between the MICHELIN Guide and the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) aimed at increasing the international visibility of Greek gastronomy.

Independent and anonymous inspectors began evaluating restaurants in these new locations in December 2025. The 2027 selection, which will highlight distinct culinary identities—from Thessaloniki’s multicultural influences to Santorini’s volcanic-soil produce—is scheduled to be officially announced on October 20, 2026.

The guide will feature various distinctions, including MICHELIN Stars for outstanding cooking, the Green Star for sustainability, Bib Gourmand for high-quality food at reasonable prices, and the MICHELIN Selected category.
