Michelin unveils Pilot Sport S6 high-performance tires

Michelin has introduced the Pilot Sport S6, a new generation of high-performance tires designed specifically for modern sports cars and supercars. The development of this tire addresses the evolving challenges of contemporary automotive engineering, including increased engine power, higher torque, hybridization, electrification, and heavier vehicle weights.

Beyond lap times, the Pilot Sport S6 aims to provide precision, consistency, effective thermal management, and clear driving sensations. Michelin utilizes a “from track to road” development philosophy, where racing technology informs the design of consumer tires. According to Cyrille Roget, Director of Scientific Communication and Innovation at Michelin, the innovation seen in current tires often begins development as much as a decade prior through continuous dialogue between advanced research and competitive racing.
