Michelle Bolsonaro registers Senate candidacy for Distrito Federal

Michelle Bolsonaro has officially registered her candidacy for the Senate representing the Distrito Federal for the 2026 elections. The former first lady, running under the Partido Liberal (PL) banner, will use the number 222 in her campaign. Her registration was finalized shortly before the legal deadline.

In her asset declaration to the Electoral Court, Bolsonaro reported total assets of approximately R$ 4.48 million. This wealth is primarily held in financial investments, including a R$ 4.2 million application and a R$ 301,600 investment fund, alongside a Volkswagen Fusca valued at R$ 30,000. The Electoral Court has established a campaign spending limit of R$ 3.8 million for her race.

Her campaign structure includes her brother, Diego Torres Dourado, as her first substitute candidate. Torres previously served as a special advisor in the Government of São Paulo. Michelle's campaign strategy is expected to focus heavily on social media and digital content, partly due to her responsibilities regarding the care of former President Jair Bolsonaro.
