Michelle Bolsonaro avoids campaign appearances with Flávio Bolsonaro

Senator-elect and former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro is maintaining a strategy of avoiding joint campaign appearances with Senator Flávio Bolsonaro during the second round of elections. While there was initial expectation from campaign hardliners for her to participate in more public events, she has largely remained a lateral figure, with her only significant contribution being a pre-recorded video used in Flávio's political propaganda.

Michelle Bolsonaro has instead focused her efforts on supporting Celina Leão’s reelection for the government of the Distrito Federal. Analysts suggest this choice is facilitated by geographic proximity, allowing her to maintain her stated priority of caring for her husband, Jair Bolsonaro, while still participating in local agendas.

Despite negotiations by allies like campaign coordinator Rogério Marinho to include the Federal District in Flávio's schedule, a joint appearance remains unconfirmed. The relationship between the two has been historically strained; following previous tensions and public accusations, Jair Bolsonaro reportedly intervened to facilitate a reconciliation, though Michelle has continued to limit her physical presence at Flávio's campaign events.
