TSE prohibits Pablo Marçal from using public funds and participating in debates
The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) has unanimously issued a precautionary ruling against presidential candidate Pablo Marçal (PRTB). The decision prohibits Marçal from accessing the electoral and party funds, participating in free radio and television advertising, and joining political debates. This measure remains in effect while the Court evaluates the validity of his candidacy registration for the 2026 elections. The ruling follows a prior conviction by the TRE-SP, which rendered Marçal ineligible for eight years due to the improper use of communication media during the 2024 municipal campaign.
In separate political developments, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) is navigating a competitive presidential landscape. Recent polling from RealTime Big Data indicates a technical tie between President Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro for the presidency in the Federal District. Additionally, Michelle Bolsonaro is leading the Senate race in the same region with 25% of intended votes. Flávio Bolsonaro has expressed intentions to propose new tax reform regulations if elected, specifically targeting a reduction in the tax burden on the service and commerce sectors.
To support the campaign, PL President Valdemar Costa Neto indicated that the party is seeking judicial authorization to allow Michelle Bolsonaro to focus on her Senate run and Flávio Bolsonaro’s presidential campaign rather than managing the medical care of former President Jair Bolsonaro.
