Michelle Dundek creates MBTA-inspired board game

Michelle Dundek, a Malden resident and medical device engineer, has created a new board game titled ‘Mass Transit’ inspired by her seven years of riding Boston’s MBTA subway system.

The game aims to capture the unpredictable nature of public transit in Boston. Players attempt to collect as many cards as possible by visiting assigned stations, but must contend with various challenges and delays that mirror real-life experiences, such as shuttle buses or service disruptions.

Dundek noted that the project is a ‘labor of love’ intended to reflect the highs and lows of being dependent on the city's transit system. After posting a walkthrough video online, the game saw a significant surge in interest, garnering hundreds of thousands of views.
