Michelle Obama vacations in Menorca and Mallorca

Former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama has been vacationing in the Balearic Islands, visiting both Menorca and Mallorca.

During her time in Menorca, Obama engaged in cultural and culinary activities. She visited the Hauser & Wirth art center on Illa del Rei alongside artist Rashid Johnson. She also toured the Salinas de la Concepció salt works in Fornells before dining at the restaurant Sa Llagosta, where she sampled local lobster and Menorcan wine.

Following her stay in Menorca, Obama traveled to Mallorca to rest at the Can Alomar luxury hotel in Palma. She was accompanied by former U.S. Ambassador to Spain James Costos. Her visit to the island follows a previous trip in 2010 during Barack Obama's presidency.
