Michelle Petrou advocates for early breast cancer detection

Michelle Petrou, a 44-year-old teacher from Farnham, is advocating for the importance of early cancer detection after successfully beating an aggressive form of breast cancer.

After discovering a lump following her 40th birthday, Petrou was diagnosed with grade three aggressive breast cancer. Her treatment journey, which began in September 2022, included six rounds of chemotherapy, a lumpectomy, 15 rounds of radiotherapy, and 14 rounds of the targeted drug Kadcyla.

Petrou, a mother of four, has returned to the classroom and uses her experience to encourage others to prioritize regular self-checks and medical consultations.
