Michiel Stockman and Diede Diederiks qualify for Ironman World Championship

Michiel Stockman and Diede Diederiks secured qualifications for the 2027 Ironman World Championship in Kona following their performances at Ironman Wales. The event in Tenby was characterized by challenging weather conditions, including heavy rain and wind.

In the men's race, Finland's Henrik Goesch took first place with a time of 8:31:31. Michiel Stockman finished second, becoming the first Belgian professional triathlete to qualify directly for the Kona World Championship. Mitch Wismans from the Netherlands finished third.

In the women's race, British athlete Nikki Bartlett claimed victory with a time of 9:45:37. Diede Diederiks finished in second place with a time of 10:07:15, also earning a qualification slot for the 2027 World Championship. Lea Riccoboni of France took third place.
