Michigan activists indicted for allegedly terrorizing Jewish community

Federal prosecutors have indicted 12 individuals, including Mariam Odeh, for allegedly participating in a scheme to terrorize members of Michigan’s Jewish community and University of Michigan officials. The group is accused of attempting to intimidate the university into cutting ties with Israel through harassment and vandalism.

Allegations include the vandalism of board members’ homes, the placement of fake corpses on lawns, and the application of anti-Israel graffiti. Odeh, a 24-year-old native of Dearborn, previously worked as an hourly employee for Abdul El-Sayed’s Michigan Senate campaign.

In a separate incident on the University of Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus, a student was arrested following a physical confrontation with conservative Jewish influencer Lizzy Benichou. Video footage shows the student allegedly shoving Benichou to the ground and kicking her during a debate regarding women’s rights in Iran. The student reportedly made threatening remarks toward Benichou while being taken into police custody.
