Michigan is preparing for the 2026 autumn season, with peak foliage expected to move through the state in stages. In the Upper Peninsula, colors typically peak between late September and early October, particularly in the Porcupine Mountains and Pictured Rocks areas. The Northern Lower Peninsula, including Traverse City and Mackinac Island, generally sees peak colors in the first two weeks of October, while the Southern Lower Peninsula reaches its peak in mid to late October.
