Michigan college football teams secure home opener victories
In Michigan college football home openers, both Central Michigan University and Western Michigan University secured victories.
Central Michigan overcame a 10-0 halftime deficit to defeat Colgate 13-10. Quarterback Angel Flores contributed a 50-yard touchdown run, and Vaughn Blue scored the go-ahead touchdown. The Chippewa defense recorded a second-half shutout and secured two interceptions to seal the win before a crowd of 19,005.
Western Michigan defeated Monmouth 49-14. Quarterback Broc Lowry threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns, while Jalen Buckley added three rushing touchdowns. The Broncos' defense forced two fumbles during the game, which was played in front of 24,605 spectators.
